Rohit Chawla is a fourth-year PhD student in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, at University College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland.Â
Rohit's research interest is in the investigation of non-smooth dynamical systems. Such systems exhibit diverse behaviour contrary to non-linear but smooth systems. Non-smooth systems can be found in real-world applications like switching circuits in power electronics, mechanical oscillators, friction models, etc. These systems show "discontinuity-induced bifurcations" due to "grazing" orbits which result in period-adding cascades, "dangerous" bifurcations, unusual routes to chaos, etc, and more!
